Our Logistics department is based at our headquarters in Cologne and is responsible for Qvest Group’s global project, commercial, and event logistics. As a team of 12 and growing international presence across Europe and the United Arab Emirates, we work closely with Project Management, Bid & Commercial Management, Rental, Professional Products, and a global network of external logistics partners.
As Head of Global Project Logistics & Supply Chain, you will have overall responsibility for all international logistics and supply chain activities across Qvest Group. Your primary focus will be the successful execution of complex international project logistics for technology, media, broadcast, and infrastructure projects.
You will oversee global supply chains, logistics partners, and operational processes, ensuring that systems, components, and equipment are delivered worldwide on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. In addition, you will ensure that the appropriate on-site logistics support is available wherever our projects are executed, enabling seamless project delivery across all regions.
Your Tasks
- Leading and developing a cross-locational team (Europe and UAE) with responsibility for Qvest's global logistics activities
- Overall responsibility for commercial, project, event, and systems integration logistics, including warehousing as well as import and export processes
- Developing and managing logistics concepts for international customer and integration projects in close collaboration with Project Management
- Staff deployment planning in coordination with Project Management
- Supporting bid, costing, and project teams with regard to logistics feasibility, risks, and costs
- Proactively managing all logistics-related topics with our customers and product suppliers, e.g. shipment notifications, customs, coordination with logistics partners, and other interfaces to ensure agreed delivery schedules
- Responsible for and further development of our network of freight forwarders, warehouse providers, customs brokers, and logistics service providers
- Ensuring commercially efficient project execution through freight cost calculations, negotiation of transportation contracts, continuous optimization of logistics cost structures, and KPI management
- Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all legal, customs, compliance, and reporting requirements within the logistics process
- Responsibility for and management of inventory counts as well as warehouse and inventory reporting for project goods, commercial goods, and systems integration materials
- Continuous development of people, processes, structures, and supply chains, while promoting a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction
- Acting as the highest professional escalation point and contact person for all logistics-related topics within Qvest
Your Profile
- Successfully completed a degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, completed vocational training in logistics with relevant further education
- Additional relevant training and certifications are an advantage
- Several years of leadership experience and people management within an internationally operating logistics, project logistics, plant engineering, or supply chain organization
- Proven experience in managing international project logistics and complex global supply chains or plant engineering projects
- Very good understanding of international logistics processes with a focus on Europe, the United Kingdom, MENA, and Saudi Arabia, as well as interfaces and projects in the Americas, Australia, and Asia
- Sound knowledge of customs, import, export, international trade, and HS code classification
- Experience in managing international logistics partners and service providers
- Strong commercial understanding of project costing, cost management, risk assessment, and contract negotiations
- Structured way of working, analytical thinking, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Interest in technical products and projects; experience in media, broadcasting, events, and live event logistics is an advantage
- Very good written and spoken German and English. Additional language skills (Arabic, French) are an advantage
