Qvest's subsidary Qspaces is building and operating a next-generation cloud-based live sports production platform for one of the world’s most prestigious sports broadcasters. We are seeking an experienced Senior Broadcast Operations Lead to become the primary  operational presence during Premier League matchdays and other critical live production events.

This role combines deep broadcast operations expertise, live sports production knowledge, operational leadership, vendor coordination and incident management within a modern cloud-based media environment. The successful candidate will act as the operational bridge between customer production teams, technology vendors, onsite operations and Qspaces’ international engineering and DevOps teams.

This is not a traditional support, NOC or helpdesk position. The role is designed for professionals who thrive in high-pressure live sports environments and understand the operational realities of premium sports broadcasting. During matchdays, the successful candidate will be physically present at the customer’s production facilities in Olympia, London, playing a key role in ensuring stable and successful live operations. To support this role, Qspaces will provide additional specialist freelance resources and remote engineering support teams. Outside matchday operations, the candidate may contribute to other international media, cloud and managed services projects within Qspaces. Given the project timeline and upcoming operational milestones, we are particularly interested in candidates who are available to start as soon as possible

Your Tasks

Matchday Operation

  • Deliver operational support during live matchdays and studio production windows
  • Maintain physical onsite presence during critical matchday and live production activities
  • Act as the primary operational representative of Qspaces at the customer site
  • Coordinate onsite activities with production, operations and engineering stakeholders
  • Execute operational readiness checks before live productions
  • Monitor platform health, service status and workflow integrity

Incident & Service Management

  • Perform fault isolation, diagnosis and operational troubleshooting
  • Lead operational communication during incidents and service degradations
  • Coordinate with remote Qspaces DevOps and Operations teams
  • Coordinate technology vendors and third-party suppliers during operational incidents
  • Support incident management during live events, including P1 war-room coordination when required
  • Identify, communicate and escalate operational risks
  • Support post-incident reviews and continuous service improvement activities

Operational Excellence

  • Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks and emergency procedures
  • Support operational process improvements
  • Ensure effective communication between customer teams, vendors and Qspaces resources
  • Contribute to service readiness and operational maturity initiatives

Your Profile

Essential

  • Extensive experience in premium live sports broadcasting operations
  • Strong understanding of football and sports production workflows
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end broadcast workflows from ingest through production, editing, media management and playout
  • Experience supporting live production environments under operational pressure
  • Strong incident management and escalation management capabilities
  • Experience coordinating across multiple vendors and technology providers
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to remain calm, structured and decisive during live incidents
  • Customer-facing experience in operational environments

We are looking for a pragmatic, operationally strong professional who can quickly understand complex situations, coordinate effectively under pressure, communicate professionally and contribute to stable live sports operations. This role is ideally suited for professionals with backgrounds in:

Candidates with hands-on experience supporting premium live sports productions are particularly encouraged to apply.

Critical Role Requirements

  • Physical presence at the customer’s production facilities in Olympia, London during scheduled matchdays and critical live production events
  • Willingness to work primarily evenings, weekends and other non-standard working hours aligned with live sports schedules
  • High availability during the platform launch and stabilization phase
  • Flexibility to significantly limit planned vacation during the first six months of employment
  • Availability to join the project as soon as possible; candidates with immediate or shortnotice availability are strongly preferred
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure live sports broadcasting environments
  • Willingness to participate in on-call and operational support rotations across the Premier League project and other managed service engagements within Qspaces

The successful candidate will become the trusted onsite operational lead for Qspaces during Premier League matchdays, capable of coordinating customer teams, vendors and remote engineering resources while ensuring stable and successful live sports operations. The ideal candidate combines deep broadcast operational knowledge with the communication skills, ownership mindset and composure required to operate effectively in one of the most demanding live sports environments in the industry.
