As a Network Administrator (m/f/d), you will support our IT team at our headquarters in Cologne in the planning, operation, and further development of our network and security infrastructure.
Your responsibilities include the administration of routers, switches, and access points, as well as core network services such as DNS, DHCP, VLAN, WAN, and VPN. In addition, you will monitor and analyze the network environment, independently resolve incidents, and contribute to the management of firewalls, VPN connections, and SSL certificates.
Together with experienced colleagues, you will ensure a secure and stable network operation, create technical documentation, and actively contribute to the ongoing development of our IT security concepts.
Your Tasks
- Planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our IT network infrastructure
- Administration of routers, switches, and access points from Cisco Meraki, WatchGuard, and Fortinet
- Administration of network services, including DNS, DHCP, VLAN, WAN, and VPN
- Administration of firewall rules, VPN connections, and routing
- Monitoring and analysis of the entire IT network infrastructure
- Creation and maintenance of network diagrams and network documentation using IPAM/DCIM tools
- Troubleshooting and resolution of network infrastructure issues through independent fault identification and root cause analysis
- Monitoring, management, and renewal of internal and external SSL certificates
- Creation of technical documentation, concepts, and user manuals
- Development and implementation of security concepts in accordance with BSI IT-Grundschutz and ISO 27001 standards
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience in the administration of IT networks and IT infrastructures
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, WLAN, and network services such as DNS, DHCP, VLAN, WAN, and VPN
- Experience with networking and security solutions from Cisco Meraki, WatchGuard, and/or Fortinet
- Knowledge of firewall administration, VPN connectivity, and network security concepts
- Experience in monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting network issues
- Confident handling of technical and network documentation
- Knowledge of information security standards and practices, ideally including BSI IT-Grundschutz and ISO 27001
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
- Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills
