As both a Infrastructure Architect & Cloud Operations Lead, you take on a key role at the intersection of cloud architecture, operational stability, and media-focused platform projects. Your focus is not on implementing individual pipelines, but on the bigger picture: you design hybrid infrastructure architectures, coordinate cloud operations topics, and ensure that our platforms are scalable, robust, and future-proof.
This is what you will be doing with us
Cloud Operations & Infrastrukturkoordination (ca. 30 %)
- Technical ownership of cloud operations across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments
- Primary architectural point of contact for cloud infrastructure operations
- Ensure consistency across accounts, environments, networking, and security baselines
- Support DevOps teams with architectural decisions, escalations, and standard alignment
- Promote cost awareness and identify optimization opportunities
- Ensure infrastructure documentation is complete, accurate, and reviewable
- Act as an interface between project teams, security, and operations
Architecture & Project Responsibility (ca. 70 %)
- Design hybrid deployment models across cloud and on-premise environments
- Define infrastructure patterns for compute, storage, networking, logging, and monitoring
- Design scalable storage architectures for media workflows (hot / warm / cold tiers)
- Specify non-functional requirements such as availability, resilience, and performance
- Incorporate compliance, security, and data protection requirements into infrastructure designs
- Contribute to cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments
- Evaluate infrastructure dependencies and project readiness
- Work closely with solution architects, integration architects, and DevOps teams
- Deliver clearly documented, implementation-ready infrastructure designs
Strategic Leadership
- Option to take on team leadership responsibilities within the L2 infrastructure team
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other Ops, Cloud, and Infrastructure engineers
- Drive strategic planning and development of infrastructure to support future growth
Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and On-Call Support
- Commitment to service level agreements (SLAs)
- Participation in on-call rotations for operational suppor
You have
Architecture Expertise
- Several years of experience in cloud and infrastructure roles with a focus on architecture
- Proven track record in designing hybrid cloud/on-premise infrastructures
- Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid knowledge of networking, IAM, security, and containerized architectures
Operational Understanding
- Familiar with CI/CD environments, DevOps principles, and production systems
- Ability to align architectural decisions with operational realities
Professional Profile
- Senior-level mindset with strong analytical skills and a systems-thinking approach
- Structured and precise communicator – both written and verbal
- Confident working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage
