Data & Analytics Regional Lead EMEA (m/f/d)

Qvest GmbH is seeking an experienced Data & Analytics practitioner to expand and develop our practice Data & Analytics in Europe, Middle East and Africa and provide regional leadership. You will be responsible for driving practice sales, marketing, and execution in these new geographic areas. This includes leading interactions with customers and channel partners, as well as actively participating in marketing activities such as social media (e.g., LinkedIn) engagement, webinars and more.

Your Tasks

  • Be the face of the practice, develop the practice’s external presence, evangelize and champion our services and products
  • Stay abreast of industry and technology changes, especially in the areas of cloud data and analytics technologies
  • Cultivate and manage the portfolio of offerings, SOWs, IP, and products to maximize profitability and achieve revenue/margin objectives
  • Partner with sales to identify customer business objectives and challenges, establish trust and set vision with the customer, develop proposals and win work for the practice
  • Architect solutions, creating documentation artifacts, and producing estimations for delivery
  • Work with customers to understand their business needs and translate them into written requirements that can be understood by technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, including project management, resource allocation budgeting an improving team processes
  • Research fair market value of services to ensure that our proposals fall within reasonable boundaries
  • Articulate the value proposition and ROI of our services and proposed solutions to prospective customers
  • Lead & Advise project teams through all core project phases, including project setup, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Manage project teams through hands-on development by coding in SQL and occasionally Python, creating data visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or similar, and designing data models in platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Ensure client satisfaction and maintain relationships through consistent support, impactful thought leadership and high-quality project execution. Be the go-to Account Manager while identifying opportunities beyond your current engagement
  • Understand, develop and articulate complex business challenges into actionable plans with clear and concise communication
  • Contribute to internal growth initiatives including mentorship, recruitment, strategy and/or methodology enhancement

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business administration, or other related analytical fields
  • Eagerness to help build and lead a best-in-class data practice
  • 10+ years Project Management, Process, Implementation, System Integration and SDLC experience working closely with data professionals in an Agile environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in professional services and pre-sales as a data architect
  • 10+ years in a consulting or a data-focused role, and expert-level experience with SQL in particular in platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata, Redshift, BigQuery, MS SQL Server or similar
  • Significant experience designing and building relational database and/or data warehouses with managing and troubleshooting complex analytics solutions
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of necessary tools for analytics on cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. E.g. S3, Athena, IAM, networking configuration and management, etc.
  • Significant hands-on experience with business driven / self-service BI, using tools similar to Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or similar
  • A track record of highly impactful work at prior companies, including both as a manager and as an individual contributor
  • Business fluency in English, German language skills would be desirable
  • A solid understanding of key BI trends and the BI vendor landscape
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices in data and analytics
  • Experience in Media & Entertainment and/or Consumer Products industries
  • Experience at a large consulting firm
  • Ability to understand/design large data architectures
  • Ability to automate data-related tasks using scripts and programming languages
  • Ability to profile, explore, and analyze data to identify common data patterns
  • Familiarity with dbt (https://getdbt.com)
