Staff Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer (all gender)

As both an experienced Staff Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer, you take on a key role at the intersection of cloud architecture, operational stability, and media-focused platform projects. Your focus is not on implementing individual pipelines, but on the bigger picture: you design hybrid infrastructure architectures, coordinate cloud operations topics, and ensure that our platforms are scalable, robust, and future-proof.

Cloud Operations & Infrastructure Coordination 

• Technical ownership of cloud operations at public cloud providers
• Primary architectural point of contact for cloud infrastructure operations
• Ensure consistency across accounts, environments, networking, and security baselines
• Support teams with architectural decisions, escalations, and standard alignment
• Promote cost awareness and identify optimization opportunities
• Ensure infrastructure documentation is complete, accurate, and reviewable
• Act as an interface between project teams, security, and operations

Architecture & Project Responsibility

• Design hybrid deployment models across cloud and on-premise environments
• Define infrastructure patterns for compute, storage, networking, logging, and monitoring
• Design scalable storage architectures for media workflows (hot / warm / cold tiers)
• Specify non-functional requirements such as availability, resilience, and performance
• Incorporate compliance, security, and data protection requirements into infrastructure designs
• Contribute to cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments
• Evaluate infrastructure dependencies and project readiness
• Work closely with solution architects, integration architects
• Deliver clearly documented, implementation-ready infrastructure designs

Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and On-Call Support

Architecture Expertise

• Several years of experience in cloud and infrastructure roles
• Proven track record in designing hybrid cloud/on-premise infrastructures
• Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid knowledge of networking, IAM, security, and containerized architectures

Operational Understanding

• Familiar with CI/CD environments, DevOps principles, and production systems
• Ability to align architectural decisions with operational realities

Professional Profile

• Senior-level mindset with strong analytical skills and a systems-thinking approach
• Structured and precise communicator – both written and verbal
• Confident working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage
